Kids In Motion

Blue Springs Fitness is happy to announce a long awaited kids program!  This is the most exciting program we have introduced at Blue Springs Fitness, and we are already getting a lot of positive feedback on it.  Most gyms have daycares, and programs for the parents, but Blue Springs Fitness is commited to helping the entire family get fit.

Nationwide statistics indicate that 16% of kids ages 6 to 10 are overweight.  In fact obesity amoung children ages 6 to 11 has more that doubled in the past 20 years and among adolescents ages 12 to 19 it has more than tripled!!  This is unfortunate because current trends indicate that an overweight child has a 70% chance of becoming overweight as an adult.  The earlier children begin to practice healthy liftestyle habits, the longer they are likely to practice them into adulthood.

The fist session of our Kids In Motion program will be a 4 week session.  This first session is our first stage in an effort to build an entire kids program for all ages from as young as 3 years up to 13 years!!!  In other words this program is in its infancy and we have a vision to offer a full-range of kids programs throughout the week.

Kids In Motion – Session One:

    – A 4 week program that begins Sat. November 7th

    – Class time is each Saturday from 10:30am – 11:30am

    – Age group is 7 to 12 years

    – Fun fitness activities to keep children active

    – Nutrition information at the end of each class to make healthy choices

    – Non-intimidating atmosphere for all shapes and sizes

    – Outdoor activities if the weather permits

    – DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO BE INVOLVED

    – $25 per child for the 4 week program, $5 for additional child in the same family
